Fireworks Pretzels: White Chocolate Covered Pretzels dipped in sprinkles

Since Fourth of July is just around the corner, I thought I’d share my easy Fireworks Pretzels with you.  This is a fun recipe to make with kids and they’re a fun treat to take to a party.  Consider whipping these up with your kiddos this week.  It’s a great way to beat summer boredom!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Chocolate Bark {You can use white or milk chocolate, but I think the white chocolate looks the best with the red, white, and blue sprinkles}
  • Sprinkles {I used red, white, and blue for 4th of July, but you can vary your sprinkles to match the occasion.}
  • Pretzel Rods

To make things easier, I’d start out with 2 cookie sheets (or more depending on how many you plan on making) lined with wax paper.

Spread sprinkles on one of your wax paper covered cookie sheets.

Place your chocolate bark in a microwave safe bowl. {Some stores sell chocolate bark in it’s own microwaveable tray which makes things easier, but not necessarily cheaper.}  Microwave for 30 seconds and then stir.  Continue microwaving in 15 second increments til your mixture is a smooth consistency.

Dip 3/4 pretzel rod in chocolate mixture.  Allow to set for 30 seconds and then roll in sprinkles.  {As you get further into your project and the bark cools you won’t need your mixture to set as it will get thicker.

Place sprinkle covered pretzels on wax-paper covered cookie sheet to set.  {You can throw in the freezer for a few minutes if you want them to set faster.

Once they’re cooled…enjoy!

I’ve also included a printable version of this recipe below.
